Three Arrangements for Violin, Piano, and Organ by Eugène Ysaÿe, now recorded for the first time, will be shared with the world in 2022.

We are in post-production!

You can still make a gift to support this new phase of the project as we aim towards a release in fall 2022!

“These arrangements give us more than just beautiful music – they compel us to contend with the musical space, to examine our spaces for art.”

— Max Tan

Unpublished Manuscripts at Juilliard

The Juilliard School’s Lila Acheson Wallace Library holds a collection of papers that once belonged to Jeanette Dincin Ysaÿe, the second wife of the Belgian violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe. This collection includes a trove of unpublished and never-before-recorded arrangements for violin, piano, and organ.

Ysaÿe’s arrangements are at the heart of this recording project

Johann Sebastian Bach: Violin Concerto No. 2 in E Major

This work was arranged by Ysaÿe for violin, piano, and organ.

Tomaso Antonio Vitali: Chaconne in G minor

Ysaÿe’s arrangement of this work for violin and organ reorganizes some variations in an adventurous and unfamiliar structure to this popular violin work.

Ernest Chausson: Poème, Op. 25

Poème symbolizes a deep friendship and artistic collaboration between the French composer Ernest Chausson and Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. Although Ysaÿe requested a violin concerto from Chausson, the idea was rejected in favor of a less strict musical structure. The arrangement, dated 1925 in Ysaÿe’s hand, was conceived a quarter-century after Chausson’s death for violin, piano, and organ.

Additional works to be recorded

Charles Gounod: Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de J. S. Bach – Ave Maria (for violin, piano, and organ)

Eugène Ysaÿe: Andante (for violin and piano)
